Day TWO : Hesham downs Diego as Round Two begins

The seeds came in to play today with the quarter-finalists in the top half of the draw decided.

The first three matches saw the seeded players progress as Mohamed Abouelghar and Saurav Ghosal defeated England’s Declan James and Tom Richards in straight games, followed by top seed and 2017 champion Mohamed ElShorbagy winning in four entertaining games against Youssef Soliman.

The first upset came in the final match as Mazen Hesham overcame fourth seed Diego Elias in four games to progress to a quarter-final on Friday against Abouelghar, while ElShorbagy meets Ghosal in a repeat of their recent Qatar World Champs clash.
