World Class field heads for St George’s

World Class Draw Heads to Channel VAS Championships

A world class draw, featuring six of the world’s top ten players, will line-up at the Channel VAS Championships at St. George’s Hill between 19th and 24th November as the battle for the PSA World Tour Gold title commences.

Egypt’s World No.2 Mohamed ElShorbagy leads the line-up and will look to get his hands on the title for the first time since 2017 when he defeated compatriot Ali Farag in the final – and avoid the early defeats he suffered at the hands of Daryl Selby and Joel Makin in 2016 and 2018.

ElShorbagy will be joined by some of the biggest names in men’s squash including former World No.1 and World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad, 2016 winner New Zealand’s Paul Coll and Peru’s World No.7 Diego Elias.

Domestic interest comes in the form of Wales’ Joel Makin, England’s No.1 Daryl Selby, Declan James, Tom Richards, Chris Simpson, Richie Fallows and wildcard Joe Lee.

They will face tough competition from the likes of World No.8 Mohamed Abouelghar, World No.10 Marwan ElShorbagy and World No.11 Saurav Ghosal.

All matches will be shown live on SQUASHTV (rest of world), Eurosport Player (Europe only) and the PSA World Tour Facebook page (excluding Europe and Japan).
