[2] Nour ElSherbini (EGY) 3-0 [6] Nada Abbas (EGY) 11-9, 11-5, 11-2 (26m)
If Nour had a shoulder bandage – discreet – Nada right thigh was heavily bandaged. I’m not sure if she is recovering from that injury, but it looked like she was not as fit as her normal self. And although her squash/shots were as lethal/well devised/mixed as usual, she seemed to struggle a bit as the match went along.
Nour was flying, it has to say. She was relaxed, found her normal nicks from anywhere in the court, and put more and more pressure on the MiniChamp.
Nour : “It was a tough one, I haven’t played Nada for a while and she’s been struggling for quite some time now.
“It’s so good to see her back playing at her best. I had to adjust and figure out what she was doing, but I’m definitely happy with how I played from the beginning to the end.“I haven’t played at this venue, but I have played on this court before, so I’m used to the court and I’m sticking to my routines.“I’m taking it step-by-step, I’m in another semi-final and I’m trying to win every match and every tournament. I would be happy to make it back to World No.1, but I’m just focusing on what’s happening now.”
