SF: Still 3/0 for Asal….

[1] Mostafa Asal (EGY) 3-0 [4] Joel Makin (WAL)  11-6, 11-8, 11-9 (72m)

Mostafa Asal maintained his impressive run of results, making it 18 wins in a row without dropping a game as he moved to within one match away from claiming a fourth successive PSA title.

Asal : “He’s a beast, he’s a character and we really miss him when he’s not on tour, I’m glad to see him back and I know he’s still getting match fit but we need him on tour. I don’t want to play him but he’s good for squash and he digs deep every time, I lost focus at the end but I’m happy to perform well and to see him back.

“Stats will come and go, but the main focus is on the squash. As you can see today, games are hard to win. I’m looking forward to playing Diego tomorrow, he obviously had a tough one with Gawad, but I’m looking forward to it.

“I’m pleased, I wasn’t too happy with the court but what can you do. We’re heavy sweaters and there was a lot of sweat on the court but Joel was the main challenge today. He had plans A,B & C and he’s so tough to play so just very happy to be through to another final here.”
