Iker

“Very tough, it’s never easy to start a new tournament. I was very nervous today as I didn’t know what to expect from him as it’s the first time that I saw him. I knew he had a very good result in the last couple of months, I was nervous and I knew I had to play my very best. It’s not an easy court to play on and it’s not easy to play your best game but happy to win in three.

“The glass court is always challenge but no matter where, the conditions are always different. Now we’re playing with the glass floor we need to get used to it, the bounce of the ball is different here and there’s lights on the floor and in this match there was a lot going on on court. I feel good and I know when I’m nervous on court I don’t play my best squash, but I’m happy with my squash today.

“I turned 29 last week and I’ve been on Tour for so many years and I have more experience than him – I think it’s 10 years difference. That made the difference today.”
