Top seed Mohamed ElShorbagy was tested to the limit, having to save match ball before finally seeing off Saurv Ghosal in an extra points decider.

Abouelghar saw a two-game lead disappear before finally prevailing over compatriot Mazen Hesham in five, while Kiwi Paul Coll found the winning formula in the fifth to oust Joel Makin.

Gawad completed the evening with a straight games win over Marwan ElShorbagy.
