[6] Nada Abbas (EGY) 3-0 Zeina Mickawy (EGY) 11-9, 11-6, 11-8 (33m)
Not sure what happened in the first game. Zeina was up, looking bleeping good, 4/1. A couple of errors, Nada quietly finding her energy, and we are at 9/5!

Again, some nice rallies, Zeina moving well, reading the game well, and the Alexandria girl claws back saving 2 game balls from 10/7 down, finally bowing 11/9 in 10m
Away with the fairies in the second Zeina, while Nada is playing a perfect, clinical, painless squash, 8/1, 9/3, 11/6 in 7m.
Again, an excellent start from Nada, who looks like running to the winning post in less than 30m match, 7/3, but it’s without counting on Zeina’s remontada, back to 8/8! Still another calm push from Nada, and the Mini Champ wins it, 11/8 in what could have been 9m but Zeina contested the point, she thought that the ball touched her opponent’s skirt at the back of the court. The video ref didn’t see any proof of that, and it’s 11m last game…
Zeina : Disappointed to say the least.
Of course, I’m not going to say that it’s not what she was doing that made me lose today. Nada is a very great player, she is in the top 15 for a reason!
But from my point of view, it’s all my fault, it’s on me. I have the squash, I can’t say I’m not physically fit, but I feel that the consistency, even the matches I win, I’m not doing that enough, I don’t seem to be able to win a good match…
I’m not working with Ramy anymore, and I’m going to go and work with Hesham El Attar in Sodic Cairo, I’ve started working with him a few times, and I’m going to go there on a permanent basis. I need something that calms me down, to make me consistent, to make me find my squash, and more than anything else, try to enjoy it more.
Nada : “I’m very happy with my performance. It’s never easy to play a close friend. We grew up together, so we know each other’s game so well, so it’s not easy to beat someone you know so well.
The start is always tricky; it took me a while to settle into the match. I like the court, the crowd is involved, so that makes it interesting for us, so I’m happy to be here and happy to be through to the next round.”
