Nour ElSherbini Injury Forces Her Out of Optasia Championships 2025

World No.2 and top seed Nour ElSherbini has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Optasia Championships 2025 due to picking up a knee injury.

In the same week that World No.1 Nouran Gohar has withdrawn, ElSherbini has also been forced out of the PSA Squash Tour Gold event with a knee related injury as well.

The top seed spot will now go to World No.3 Hania El Hammamy as she looks to reach a third consecutive final and claim a second title of 2025. England No.1 Georgina Kennedy has moved to the bottom of the draw as the No.2 seed whilst Nada Abbas becomes the No.4 seed and sits in the same half as Kennedy.

France’s Melissa Alves has moved to a top eight seed and switches to the bottom half of the draw where she will now receive a bye and play one of Mariam Metwally or Torrie Malik in round two.
