more to come
Amanda : I’m crying, because I’m proud to be part of battles like this.
I don’t think I was able to do that a couple of years ago. It felt different then, but here, it was so enjoyable to be able to stick in and compete, and leave it all out there.
And then, playing someone like Satomi, just class, you know you are just competing out there, like two fierce competitors, and it’s was SO MUCH FUN!!!! It was so much f fun!!!! It just SUCKS TO LOSE!!!
I’m so proud of my evolution as a player, how I’m here at those moments, how I’m competing, getting stuck in. Before, I would have probably crumbled fitness wise. Whereas today, when I regrouped, I feel I’m still learning, and improving as a player and I know my best squash is ahead of me.
So obviously, it sucks I lost cause I want to keep competing, play those matches and competing but I know I’ll get there. Last time we played, I got the win, this time, she got the win, I’m sure we are going to have more battles, but it’s just the fun of being in the arena, truly having fun and loving it out there, I haven’t in a long time, so today, for me it was a win, even if it wasn’t…
Satomi : “Me and Amanda have played a few times before and the head-to-heads are really even. It’s always a really tough battle, still an enjoyable battle, but I always love playing Amanda.
“I obviously lost to her in Chicago [the Windy City Open] recently, so I think it was a home advantage for me today and I’m very happy to get through.“It means a lot to be playing here. All the supporters are great and all my support team are in the corner there, so I’m definitely looking forward to tomorrow.”
