The Optasia Championships 2025 continued today with eight quarter-finals at The Wimbledon Club.
The top four seeds won through to both Women’s and Men’s semi-finals, but that doesn’t tell a tenth of the story!
In the opening match of the day defending champion Satomi Watanabe came from two games down to deny Amanda Sobhy, and that was one of three thrilling five-setters – won by Paul Coll and Nada Abbas – that had the capacity crowd in raptures.
Add to that a 78-minute three-nil win for Joel Makin, a demolition job by Mostafa Asal, and two cracking final matches featuring the ElShorbagy brothers, and that was quite some day.
