R2: Nada 3-0 Katie

Coached by legend Karim Abdel Gawad, Egyptian MiniChampion Nada Abbas didn’t have to force her talent tonight I felt, as Katie Maliff didn’t get to play the squash we normally see her display. Not sure if she wanted to do so well she put too much pressure on her shoulders, it felt like she never let go for the stress.

I could be wrong, of course, and Nada’s accurate squash didn’t allow the Englishgirl much leaveway but still, I felt she could have done a bit better, especially in the building up of her rallies.

Mind you, Nada took a little while to settle as well, 3 errors at the front of the opener, but the lead she had was big enough to win the first game comfortably, 11/6 in 10m (7winners Nada, 3 Katie).

A better start for the young Englishgirl in the second, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6, 7/7, but a few errors at that point from Katie, and Nada closed down the game 11/7 in again 10m (more winners for Katie 7, than for Nada, 6).

Despite a lovely winner at the start of the last game, Katie just couldn’t find her rhythm, and Nada cruised on that third, 7/3, 11/4 in 8m.
